4月23日，记者查询发现，外交部网站“翻译司”栏目更新信息显示，张璐已经履新外交部翻译司副司长。翻译司的主要职责是负责国家重要外事活动、外交文件和文书的英、法、西、葡文翻译工作；统筹协调各语种翻译人员的专业培训和业务指导工作。

据新华网报道，张璐出生于1977年，是土生土长的济南姑娘，是外交学院国际法系1996级学生，曾在伦敦一所大学学习外交学专业，并获得硕士学位。
2000年，23岁的张璐从外交学院国际法系毕业，进入外交部工作。后来，曾任外交部翻译室英文处副处长、外交部翻译司西葡语处处长。
2010年3月14日，33岁的张璐首次亮相总理记者会，正式进入人们的视野。
2011年，张璐因在两会记者会上流利翻译温家宝总理引用的古诗词，走红网络，好评如潮。
张璐曾多次在总理记者会上担纲翻译，也是重要对外场合的首席翻译之一。

怎么入职外交部翻译司？
外交部翻译室的一位工作人员向媒体介绍，想进入外交部当一名高级翻译，必须经历“严格筛选、疯狂练习、周密准备”三重考验。
外交部挑选翻译人员要经过严格的初试和复试：初试一般通过公务员考试排名，或是去专业院校进行笔试（俗称遴选）。其中成绩排在最前面的10至15名，才有可能进入翻译司参加下一阶段的“观察培训”。“观察培训”实质上就是“淘汰式培训”，最终只有不到4%的人被录用。
与张建敏、朱彤并称中国外事翻译“三剑客”的许晖现任外交部翻译司司长。她曾向外界透露，中国领导人的高级翻译队伍平均年龄只有31岁，其中女干部占全体人数70%。
外交部翻译司大约有50名翻译，英语和法语的翻译人数最多。据悉，外交部每年从录取的200多名新人中，选拔出英语基础最好的7至8位，最后留下3至4个人进入翻译司，竞争激烈。
如何成为一名优秀的翻译？
据央广网2015年刊文报道，成为一名出色的翻译，需要经历“魔鬼式训练”，张璐在给学生做讲座时自己就说过，自己常常加班到凌晨两点，每天还是听BBC、CNN，做笔记，还要看《参考消息》和《环球时报》等。
成为一名优秀外交翻译没有捷径可走，只有不断地练习，练习，再练习。“即使我工作了12年，即使我可以给领导人做翻译了，那绝对不意味着我可以去吃老本，放弃学习了。”张璐说，每天早上8点钟她准时打开电视和收音机，收听BBC、VOA、CNN广播，“即使我已经工作了这么多年，这依然是我上午8点到下午1点的头等大事，除非当时有紧急的翻译任务，否则这是我雷打不动的routine。”

对于他们来说，每年的两会总理记者会都是一场“硬仗”，外交部都要提前一个月通知翻译。“大战”前，还要模拟召开记者会，不上场的同事充当陪练，设计出各种可能出现的突发情况。此外，还要进行彩排走场，熟悉灯光和声效。
谈到如何给领导人做翻译，央视网文章介绍，在张璐看来，给领导人当翻译，首先要有较高的政治敏感。“翻译时要保持对原文的忠实，做到如实翻译。”
这对翻译能力有着极高的挑战，张璐解释，领导人发言的时候，不可能让他停下来，即使是连续10分钟的讲话，也得尽可能全部翻译出来。因此，记笔记是翻译的一个工作重点，这就需要不断地练习臂力。“其实，古诗词翻译并不是我的强项，哪怕能再多给我一秒钟时间，我都能翻译得更加准确。”张璐表示。
