The Lotus Sutra Chapter V Herbs（30）

In this way, O Kā?yapa

The Dharma that the Buddha teaches

Is just like the great cloud that enriches human flowers

With the rain of one flavor,

So that each attains its fruits.

如是迦葉！佛所說法，譬如大雲，以一味雨，潤於人華，各得成實。

如此看來，迦葉，佛說的法好比是天空中的密雲，以其一味之雨滋潤于人這種花，從而使他們各得成長，開花結果。

O Kā?yapa!

You should know that I reveal the buddha path

Using various explanations and illustrations

And that this is my skillful means.

All of the buddhas are just like this.

迦葉當知！以諸因緣、種種譬喻，開示佛道，是我方便，諸佛亦然。

迦葉，你應當知道，通過各種因緣、各種譬喻來開示佛道妙法，是我的方便權巧之力，一切佛也都是如此。
