妙法蓮華經 藥草喻品第五（16）

The Lotus Sutra Chapter V Herbs（16）

All the trees, small, medium, or large

Are able to grow in accordance with their capacities.

The luster and colors of the roots, stems,

Branches, leaves, and flowers

Are all freshened by the same rain.

一切諸樹，上中下等，稱其大小，各得生長，根莖枝葉，華菓光色，一雨所及，皆得鮮澤。

一切樹木分爲上、中、下三等，各依其大小而得到生長。草木的根、莖、枝、葉、花果的五光十色，皆因同一雨水的澆灌而得到鮮嫩或光澤。

Each of these, although receiving the same moisture,

Reaches a greater or lesser size

In accordance with their different

Dispositions, characteristics, and natures.

如其體相，性分大小，所潤是一，而各滋茂。

花草樹木的體相有的大小不同，所以，雖然是一雨所潤，但各自卻獲得了不同程度的生長或茂盛。
